How much does lunch cost at Jalsa?
An Indian lunch at Jalsa in Aalborg costs from 128 kr. for a main course. If you’d like to share, a set menu for two people costs 498 kr., for four 998 kr. and for six 1,498 kr. That works out at around 250 kr. per person, including a starter, main course, rice, naan and a mango lassi.
The price of a lunch depends on three things: whether you’re eating on your own or sharing, whether you choose chicken, lamb or a vegetable dish, and whether you’re taking the food home. Vegetarian main courses are the cheapest, lamb dishes the most expensive, and sub-menus offers the lowest price per person when there are several of you.

A quick calculation: two colleagues sharing the Jugalbandhi Delights pay 249 kr. each, which includes a starter, a main course, rice, bread and a drink. By comparison, two main courses, each with its own naan, cost 352 kr.
Drinks other than those listed on the menus are charged separately. We do not have a separate lunch menu, so the full à la carte menu is available from 12 noon.
What can you have for lunch?
At lunchtime, you can order from the full menu. Most people choose a curry dish with rice and naan. Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala cost 138 kr. and are among the dishes the menu describes as the chef’s specialities, along with Lamb Rogan Josh at 158 kr. From the grill come Chicken Tikka and Jalsa Tandoori Mixed Grill.
Vegetarian lunch
There are 11 vegetarian main courses on the menu. Dal Makhani is one of the chef’s specialities and costs 128 kr., the same as Palak Paneer and Paneer Tikka Masala.
Gluten-free and lactose-free dishes
The menu features a separate list of gluten-free and lactose-free dishes, and 12 main courses are labelled as gluten-free, including Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani and Lamb Rogan Josh. All naan breads contain gluten, so please ask us for rice instead.
Lunch with the children
Children under 12 have their own menu. Butter Chicken Naanchos and Chicken Tikka Masala Naanchos cost 88 kr., and chicken nuggets with chips cost 68 kr.
Open for lunch every day of the week
We open at 12 noon every day, including Saturdays and Sundays. From Sunday to Wednesday we’re open until 10 pm, and from Thursday to Saturday until 11 pm. If you’re planning to have lunch with us at the weekend, it’s a good idea to book a table.

The kitchen opens at 12 noon, at the same time as the restaurant, and meals are prepared as and when orders come in. We recommend booking a table at weekends and on busy days.
- Book a table online, or call 75 75 75 84. If there are several of you, please state the number in your booking.
- Order from the menu. We recommend a starter to share and one main course per person. If you’re in a hurry, just let us know at the table and we’ll get your dishes started straight away.
- The food is made from scratch using fresh ingredients, and the naan bread is freshly baked.
- Pay at the table. If there are more than five of you, one person pays the entire bill.
If you have less than half an hour, then take the quicker route: You place your order on our ordering page, and the food will be ready for collection at Ved Stranden 5. For orders over 300 kr., we offer a 15 % discount.
